In the summer of 1816, Lord Byron invites the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and his young wife, Mary, to his home in Switzerland. The days are rainy and the host proposes that each one write a ghost story. This will arise 'Frankenstein, or the modern Prometheus', published in 1818 and considered the first novel of the science fiction genre. Cut in the Arctic ice, Víctor Frankenstein is rescued by Captain Walton. He will dedicate his last days to tell him the tragic story of his experiments in search of the power to give life to inert matter and how the being he created would rebel against him.
